The Chinese Sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis) is a heavily protected and extremely endangered species of Sturgeon from the Acipenseridae family and the Acipenser genus. This fish will often thrive in the water around China, and spawn up river in the Yangtze. This fish can grow to proportions as great as 16 feet in length, and about 1000 pounds in weight. Though this is China's most precious and protected species of fish, it is very endangered from human actions such as pollution.
